This study investigates the efficacy of crushed brick powder (CBP) and hydrated lime (HL) as supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) in enhancing the durability and mechanical performance of concrete. The experimental program was executed in three phases. First, the pozzolanic reactivity of CBP was assessed as per ASTM C618 by replacing 20% of OPC in mortar cubes, showing promising strength development. In the second phase, concrete specimens incorporating 20% CBP and varying HL contents (0%, 10%, 15%, 20%) were tested for compressive strength, split tensile strength, water absorption, sorptivity, and rapid chloride penetration. The blend with 20% CBP and 10% HL demonstrated superior mechanical and durability properties at all curing periods (28, 56, 90 days). The third phase focused on accelerated corrosion testing of rebars embedded in concrete using impressed voltage in a 7% NaCl environment. Results revealed that a combination of 20% CBP and 15% HL offered the best corrosion resistance. The findings affirm the potential of CBP and HL blends in producing durable, sustainable concrete for infrastructure applications.
